The drafts, on Procreate and my sketchpad.
West Indian Jasmine flower reference / inspo.
With A1, I wanted to create a personal logo that I could use to represent myself anywhere — be it on my portfolio, a business card, or on the Internet. The hand-drawn ‘cn’ ligature gives the logo a soft, elegant touch, while the small serifs provide the structure that reads as steady and strong. The flower sandwiched between my initials represents the West Indian Jasmine — otherwise known as hoa trang in Vietnamese — and my middle name, Trang.
My logo, in the colors that represent me.

My first steps into logo design were definitely big ones! I got comfortable with working with vectors and the pen tool in Illustrator, designed with responsiveness in mind, and experimented with typographic logos. Next steps would definitely be to make variations with my full name and just the brand mark. All in all, a great start to VDA.
